I am getting a negative value on my Automated ship weight.  I am not getting an increase to my CR either, assumably for the same reason I am getting a negative result.  Any advice?

By this time next week I should be done with my thesis and everything else regarding my graduation, so I'll finally be able to fix all issues reported over the past few months, including this one.

Well, originally it was a project on brain-machine interaction. Basically, real-time readings of brain activity to send commands to a computer using thoughts. Unfortunately, because of Covid we couldn't get enough patients for data collection, and we had to change the scope of our research. Since the data we collected was from patients in therapy, we used what we had to do an evaluation of the effectiveness of therapy sessions.

Yeah, we were supposed to work with an organisation for tetraplegic people (paralised from the neck down), but unfortunately that ended up not being possible. We might still go forward with the project in the future, depending on funding and on my PhD opportunities

What would you say is the feasability of it being possible/commercialised within the next few decades?

I'd say it depends on other technologies that are being developed in parallel. There's stuff like neural prosthetics and Neuralink that do (or aim to do) something extremely similar in a more accurate way. The focus of our research is accessibility. It requires a wristwatch sensor that doesn't need any particularly complex preparation to be used, while the other examples I mentioned require a direct contact with the nervous system. Our technology, while definitely less precise, is way less invasive. Think of it as the difference between a full-on VR setup and one of those cheaper versions that you can use with your smartphone, or even just the Oculus Quest. Less precise, more accessible, easier to use. It's definitely a possibility for it to be commercialised at some point in the future, but I don't really know how many more years of studies and development would be required for that to happen.

Fascinating.  I see you are fairly pleased with your results.  I hope it goes well for you.

Can you contact me on Discord? I think I worked out a fix for it, but I'd need to get some info from you.

Doesn't work with existing saves if an AI core is already integrated into the ship.

Suggestion for this, but I think it might be worth considering making the cost penalty instead of being Maintenance cost being instead Recovery cost (and CR per deployment maybe).  You can swap in and out the AI cores at will, so you realistically should only be paying the cost when the fleet sees actual combat, so there being say a 25% increased recovery cost for gamma'd ships, a 75% increase for beta'd ships, and a 225% increase for alpha'd ships might be worth considering (Gamma should be worth a bit less since Support Doctrine exists).  Could also maybe slightly increase the CR cost per deployment for beta and alpha cores, like +50% CR spent for Beta and +100% for Alpha.  That'd make the AI ships have less overhead, but be much less reliable for long drawn out fights.

Nope, still negative value to me. Ironicly toying with settings i've got it back into positive by increasing #Modifiers based on hull size value (4.0 for cap ships, having 2 of those), but it did nothing to fix 35% CR. Hope this helps
