Having a serious proble, making the game uplayable
« on: February 18, 2012, 11:20:11 AM »

I'm having a really annoying problem, and it's making the game unplayable for me. Please, please help!

Hi - can you make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date?

Also, it might help if you let me know your system specs (OS, cpu, graphics card, etc).

Just updated drivers, and java for that matter, and problems the same...

Here are my system specs -

T4200 dual core @ 2.00GHz
4 GB RAM
Intel 4 series express w/ 1.5 GB dedicated

This has happened to me in only 2 other games, and I don't understand why. Maybe a problem with the fonts or something. It's really annoying, I'd live to play this game. I realize my graphics card is really ***, but, if it couldn't handle it, it should lag, not make the fonts weird.

Ugh, my apologies. I don't think there's anything I can do about this on my end - the fonts are just loaded as regular graphics, and everything besides the fonts is looking blurry, too. Are there, perhaps, texture quality settings you could adjust in your graphics settings?

This is not the first game I have experienced this issue. Gratuitous Space Battles for example does the exact same thing. Can I safely assume that your game is run entirely in Java? If so, I'm not sure how this could possibly have any effect on my system. I even downloaded Java7 just in case to no avail.

Hmm... can you take a look at this, and see if it helps?

I read the thread and it didn't really say much except "3d settings". So I went into that part of my graphics options and turned everything to default high performance. Now it's working fine, but I don't know if it's because my computer needed a reboot, or if it really was those 3d settings.

Well, I haven't taken a look into that thread yet, I will now. Just wanted to say that I can run it perfectly fine under wine on ubuntu.

Oh, cool. You do know there's an actual Linux version, right? :) Of course, whatever works, works.

Actually, I had no idea there was a linux version. Well, I did, but when I logged into ubuntu and went to download it I didn't see one (maybe I just missed it) so I ran it under wine. Thanks anyway, you've been helpful.

PS: Ppl developing this, I just wanted to say that this games has enormous potencial, it's looking great already! The gameplay is amazing, and I think that this could really turn into something outstanding. Just congratulating for this awesome game.
