Right now Kite(S) is a purely joke ship. It has no weapons and less OP than Kite(A).

If it had more OP than Kite(A) it would have a distint tactical niche - being a support ship with fleet-buffing hullmods. It can already do that, but a Kite(A) can do the same better.

My suggestion is 40 or 50 OP. This way, it could mount Operations Center + ECM/Nav (or both). Finally players who don't want to pilot themselves (a rare and suboptimal playstyle, but still) can chill in their pimped out shuttle and give orders.  ;)

The auxiliary kite is pretty good as it is for a drafted civilian shuttle.

Stick a railgun on top and two SRM launchers and it'll out-duel most pirate craft with ease. If you are feeling cheeky you can put torpedoes on it and try to sink something of worth!

They are cheap and speedy as all hell, I personally think they are fine as they are.

I believe you misread my post, good sir. I'm proposing a buff to Kite(S), the one with no weapons. Kite(A) is indeed good already, that's beside the point.

Uhh I mean the Kite S is a civilian shuttle no? Is it even supposed to be on the battlefield?

I'm not too sure it supposed to have much of niche? I don't think the other civilian craft have a battlefield role other then "target."

But I dunno.

Kite (S) is supposed to be a somewhat outdated, ineffectual ship. A relic from a better time.

Kite (S) exists as a trophy/vanity unit and for spacer start.

If we were going to buff it, I'd think it could indeed have more OP for hullmods, and/or more cargo/crew capacity, as I'm thinking the addition of weapon mounts with the regular Kite would have eaten into space for those.
(Still probably wouldn't see use though; the player will always prefer a "proper" freighter/transport if given the choice)
