Allied battles, pursuit and loot.
« on: November 22, 2015, 11:57:02 AM »

Just a small thing in group battles that seemed a bit counter-intuitive.

Let's say you join a big battle that an allied fleet started. You take out most of the enemies, but one or two fighter squadrons escape. Now the allied commander most of the time will attempt to chase them down. You're left with the choice to 1) join the fruitless chase and bleed more supplies on essentially nothing or 2) exit out of the whole engagement and not get any loot.

This doesn't seem right to me. What if instead, you were given the option to 'stand down' like you can in all won engagements, and just be given your share of the loot from that one battle you fought. The wreckages are right there, they don't need to be pursued to be valid. And, to play devil's advocate, you could just commit to the chase with a single cheap fighter wing, spend 1-3 supplies doing nothing and wait for the whole thing to be over. And that's your ticket to get loot.

Yeah, this is a fair point.

For now, what you can do is join the pursuit, not deploy anything, and then just "claim victory" right away. Assuming the enemy is retreating with only non-combat ships, that is. If they've still got combat ships left, you'd have to wait for those to retreat too.
