Ugh, nope. I disabled all of the mods and even tried the .exe, but alas!

Also, I have a VERY small launch glitch myself. If you fire up the game and BEFORE the launcher pops up you click on the desktop (I do this to make the start menu disappear) the launcher won't appear as a window but still will appear in the taskbar.
Note I have windows 7 ultimate, my desktop icons turned off and my taskbar minimizes

Yeah, reinstalling sounds like a good idea - looks like something got messed up one way or another.

Yeah it is a bit hard for me to reproduce on my end as well but I noticed that the task bar MUST be minimized/ hidden and I usually see it when I use Winkey D to show the desktop. And yes, I can still alt tab into the launcher

Okay, I tried an older version of starsector that did not have this launcher bug. Unfortunately, it persisted, so I suspect its a Java problem. Dang you Sun, you have literally given me a broken Java every single update you fart out.

Ugh. I really need to convert the launcher to use OpenGL at some point. Swing (the Java UI API) has been nothing but problems.
