Hi guys!

Any information on when the new version will be available?

When it's ready, of course :) Or "soon(tm)", if you prefer.

The key is to quit playing before that happens, and take a day or to and not play any Starsector, then come back to it in like 3 days it works wonders for me. i personally like the build up at the beginning the most.

Also I totally had the name BEFORE the cruiser.

Isn't wierd how that works? I havn't played in maybe a month, and im able to come back, even in the middle of a character and have fun. Also mods really make the game last longer between patches.

I like the mid-game, personally, but it's a bit short. Piloting a lone, underpowered frigate is a bit on the uncomfortable side of challenging for me. Once I have one or two high-tech ships, that's when the ball starts rolling. That's when the amassing of wealth, ships, and skills begins to accelerate and proceed at a good pace, right up til you get a Paragon. Then once you get the Paragon, the game becomes a bit boring since nothing stands a chance anymore.

Then just don't use the Paragon.  :P
Go jump in an Aurora or a Medusa and stay in it.

i like to stick to frigates for as long as i can, it gives a great sense of accomplishment when the Lasher you've been working on for hours is shredding through every single other frigate and even some destroyers all on its own, *single manly tear* this also massively prolongs my interest in a new game.

High tech ships are easy-mode.

REAL MEN use low-tech ships with ridiculous amounts of ballistic firepower and heavy armor.  Not wimpy shields and lame new-age "Lasers".

Alas, when those wimpy laser bolts are mysteriously sparking lightning across your hull and making your weapons magically stop working, credit where credit is due, they're using your unshielded strengths against you.  :P

Nah, that's not the lasers doing it.  It's those stupid Green Recruits getting so bored by seeing the lasers harmlessly plink on the armor that they stop manning their weapons.
