I don't know if this is a bug or i am missing something.

i just started a new game, and i noticed my crew is not leveling at all. i mean, no crew gets upgraded to elite, veteran, etc.

on my other character i always get a few upgraded crews after a big battle. so it seems to work properly there, but not with the new char.

is anyone else having this issue? do i have to put skillspoints somewhere for crews to level up?

There's a bug where it would rarely get into this state, it's fixed for the next release. IIRC it's triggered by having 0 crew, and the only way around it is to start a new game or edit your savefile.
