The game heavily dislikes you getting past the score 2000 without layering the entire ocean surface in goddamn Yamamotos

The way that enemies spawn basically makes it to where the type of enemy you don't kill is the enemy that the game spams against you. In my last screenshot, for example, I completely ignored the enemy planes and focused on killing the boats and ships, and eventually it ended up to where there was literally just a single enemy boat left on the entire map (which seems to loop around) I had finally ended up dead and took that picture when I tried to deal with the extreme numbers of planes behind me and accidentally crashed into about 50 of the buggers that were all overlapping.
Edit: tl;dr: If you kill planes more boats spawn and if you kill boats more planes spawn.
