My game was starting to act Very slow, despite me staying on 63 FPS constantly and never dropping, so i saved and the game crashed, and now the save doesn't work anymore, any idea how to fix it or do i have to play from the beginning?

Also noticing the background going white after you fight some battles, returns to normal if you restart the game, but it's still annoying and obviously a bug of some kind, could be mod related.

As far as the save: there should be backup files in the save directory, you could try restoring them (rename the .bak files to the proper save file names.)

The white screen bug has been reported earlier and should be fixed in the next release - it's not something I can reproduce to confirm the fix, though.

I feel like the white screen bug might become more prevalent the more things you have going. I never even saw the white screen bug until recently when I started using 8 or 9 mods at once. Now it shows up after an hour or two for me.

That's probably correct, I think it has to do with video card memory being reclaimed (and some memory being erroneously marked as no longer used).

I get the white screen bug even without mods usually when my fleet size is >50
