Erm offense not taken, but I am pretty sure we weren't at war with Russia. Cold war doesn't count. Also pretty sure Korea was a policing action. But America has been getting into a lot of unwinnable situations lately.

It is pretty incendiary. I'm feeling a little incensed. Not a lot, but a little. There's nothing objectively incorrect about it, but the intent of the entire thing is annoying.

No country is immune to overreach or defeat, but to feel the need to aggressively rebuke the foolish claim that any country is, is itself an exercise in preening smugness.

I think the comments are more to shut up those overly arrogant types (You know, the "'murica, *** yeah!" stereotype). Any offence intended is to those people I had mentioned before, while the more reasonable of folks can have a good chuckle about it

Any conventional war the US enters (e.g. WWII), the US will be pretty effective.  Anything else though, and they start to fail in certain areas.

And as a side note, the last war the US ''won'' was the Gulf War, I think sometime in the 1980s?  Been a while since I studied modern conflicts.
