Drone positioning bug
« on: September 05, 2012, 12:01:44 PM »

When modding drones to make an arrowhead formation around a ship when they're deployed, setting the "initialOrbitAngle" will make that drone go to the center of the ship.  When "initialOrbitAngle" is anything else, it goes to it's proper place.

Woops, sorry. ;D
Setting it to 0 will make the drone move to the center instead of in front of the ship.

This doesn't appear to be the case.

Hm.  I tested it myself and when I set it to 0, the drone moves to the center, and when I set it to -1, the drone moves the proper distance I set away from the ship.

Could you try it w/ the Apogee's drone_sensor system? That's what I tried and it worked fine. (Note: the drone ends up on top of the ship, but that's where it should be given the radius).

Hm.  I just tested it again with my own mod, it's fine now.  I have no idea why that was happening to me, but it's gone.  Solved?

I've had this problem with drones before, but it was with a moddified terminator drone system that kept pumping them out until there were a dozen or so of them.  After about 10 are flying aroudn the ship the rest fly to the center of the ship and stay put inside of it and cannot be shaken lose.

Not a bug - you just have to configure the system properly (i.e, specify positions for drones beyond 10).
