Laptop
EasyNote TJ65
4.00 GB RAM
64-bit
2 Core
Display adapter type Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Total available graphics memory 1695 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 64 MB
Primary monitor resolution 1366x768
DirectX version DirectX 10

start screen - 50-60 fps / 5-15% idle

Running in full screen at max res,  no slow down or stuttering at all,  very stable.
not too shabby for a laptop with intergrated graf card, will be looking for a new comp this year also.

I've been wanting to get this game for about a month now, but the question always comes down to whether my computer can run it. It's pretty old but I've put some new hardware into it.

Celeron D 3.2 GHz running XP
2 Gb RAM
ATI HD 4650 (512 Mb)

Any idea whether this will be enough? I can run SPAZ with occasional slowdown, but only in certain cases.
Any and all help appreciated!  :)

That seems like more than enough. My dev box has a slower processor than that and the same amount of RAM, and your graphics card seems way good enough.

College student here. This game looks fantastic, and ten bucks isn't THAT much, but I'd rather not pay for a game I can't play. I'm running with 2 CPU's at 1.83 GHz each, and an intel 945 chipset (224 MB). Think I can run it? Btw, I lost one of my ears as a child, so I was amused when I failed your verification checks  ;D

Doh! I just knew that was going to happen when I was putting that question together. My apologies :)

As far as your laptop - I think it'll run, but I doubt you'd get 60 fps out of it. The cpu shouldn't be a problem, but the graphics card is what's going to slow it down.

What question was it?

BTW, is that a dual core cpu, or two physical chips with some unspecified number of cores each?

By 224MB, I presume you mean 224MB of system ram? That's... alarmingly low. You running an extremely light distro of linux?

224 MB of video memory--I have a gig of RAM. And 2 actual CPU's, not a dual core.

Arright, so here's me on my 6-month-old Alienware M14X (don't hate, it was good for the price), running an i5 at 2.3 Ghz, a GT555M with 3GB texture memory and shader version something-or-other-point-zero, 6GB of ram at 667 hz, so everything is running pretty damn well. I have it open right now, and I am showing 40-60 FPS on a pause over Corvus IV with no other ships around (mind you, this is with my moderately massive fleet of ~250 points), and when unpaused... 40-60 FPS. Looks like I am good to go for future versions. Oh, almost forgot, idle shifts from 50% to 80% rather randomly, even as I type this. Screen size is 1600x900, which I now regret because I can't play BF3 without a framerate of ~5. the best thing about being a computer player is rofling at my bro who plays console with his sheet graphics on Xbox 360.

Have dual core [email protected], 2GB memory, windows 7 professional GeForce 9800 GT
I'm getting 3-5 fps @ 0% idle.
Is this a common problem for a fresh install?

update, looking at video of this game after trying this out the first time, it seems that there are some significant graphics problems. Background is glitched or not displaying properly. I'm not sure how much that helps

Phenom II X6 1055t @ 2.8 GHZ (Sometimes OC , not for this game though)
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB (Sometimes OC , not for this game though)
6gb DDR3 ram
250gb SSD drive (for OS)
500gb harddrive
Moniter size 1680x1050 (21" iirc)

60FPS constantly w/ 85% idle

Your CPU is OK , but you really need more ram and a better graphics card. I'm still unsure if this game uses mainly CPU (IE GTA) or mainly GPU (IE BF3). Its got nothing really to do with your install.

EDIT: HERP DERP

"The game is very unlikely to be CPU-limited - how fast it runs is going to be mostly determined by the graphics card."

Yeah , I would get yourself a nice 560Ti or something from the 6000 range , not only for this game but for others.
