As per title, i am inquiring Alex & co if they ever had plans on adding intro movies when you, say, boot up the game or start a new game. If it was to be at bootup, I'd say that we have some kind of option in the launcher to disable/enable it (and it being enabled per default). I wasn't thinking anything huge or something, but just something quick, and perhaps with voice acting describing the state of affairs in starfarer so that new and old players may all get a quick insight into what's going on, alternatively re-remembering what is going on.

I'd also suggest that this be moddable, so that we modders of TCs may be able to make an epic intro into the game.

Showing some pictures with a voice over should be easy enough right? Less of a hassle to create then a whole movie I think and easier to make it look pretty.

  funny you should ask that, I've imagined "The State of Affairs" being narrated with the blog pictures animated in that 2d-puppet looking way, with a cheesy camera zooming and sliding around.

I think that would be fine.  The original Sins (not rebellion) had exactly that, and it set the mood for the entire game! All they need is some dramatic pictures of the fall, and then someone read in a spooky voice the story page on the website.

The voice would have to be just right though, not like other games, not like current trends in movies. Something that feels right. That will be the hard part, getting the right voice.

EDIT: Or no voice at all, just pictures and music can set a tone as well.
