Just got this game a few days ago and have been playing it like crazy. Brings back my old Mount and Blade save-scumming habits, but oh well.

Currently, my fleet is:

2x Paragon (standard Elite variant)
1x Odyssey (standard Balanced variant, for the flight deck)
2x Aurora (standard Balanced variant)
2x Medusa (standard Close Support variant)
2x Tempest (standard Attack variant)
2x Xephos wing

I usually put one Xephos on each Tempest and send them out for the control points. They usually get there second, but end up holding it and capturing it first.

I don't even know where to begin customizing my ships loadouts. Any advice? Right now I'm at exactly 150.

I had an Astral and didn't think it was worth the fleet points.

I had a Hyperion too, which was the ship I flew. It had no weapons on it, but I beefed up the shields, engine, and capacitor as much as I could, and used its full shields to suck up missiles headed towards my smaller ships and ram enemies back onto the map when they tried to retreat. Great fun, miss having it.

for early game and just for fun, I usually run an enforcer, 1-2 condors, a wolf, 2 lashers, and a +3 fighters, usually all broadswords/thunders with a piranha or a dagger wing.  VERY effective I tell you.

I was running a Conquest based fleet, but I've switched to a more high-tech approach.

-1 Paragon
-2 Auroras
-1 Medusa
-1 Wolf
-4 Xephos Wings

The Xephos try to take all the objectives and depending on my mood, either the Paragon and the Medusa go in or the two Auroras.

My fleet is like dead. After a first battle where I had to leave a paragon escape deep in the hull, in the second encounter, I rammed the last of my surviving ship all guns firing in a spot where the paragon hadn't it's shield up resulting in a blinding last explosion that left no survivors. It was epic.

nonoce, that is pretty damn epic, you even left an interceptor wing to escape and tell the tale of your mutual annihilation to their masters.

Here is my Fleet (with ships from the Plus mod). Lots of fun and very versatile, though I have yet to test it against a Heg/TTT fleet.

~100 CP:
1x Apogee - flagship, makes a very good tank/all-around ship killer
1x Onslaught
1x Venture - my main carrier
1x Condor - extra carrier to support large numbers of bombers on the field
3x Broadswords - best fighter-killer in my opinion
3x Daggers
2-3x Random cannon fodder destroyers/cruisers that I pick up from the Tri-Tachyons (they surrender so often it's not funny)

I deploy the Onslaught at the beginning if the opponent has significant anti-fighter capabilities or an enemy Onslaught/Paragon appears (the only ships my Apogee can't take down alone). Otherwise I with carriers/bombers. Daggers do obscene amounts of damage in extended engagements.

Only the Apogee is truly critical. The Daggers/Onslaught/carriers are painful to lose, but I can carry on. Everything else is pretty disposable.

Usually I'm killing Tri-Tachyons or pirates. Tri-Tachyons are the most fun to kill but you have to be careful. They are pretty toothless once you kill their fighters/bombers, so that's usually my first priority when I face them. Still, there's no better feeling than taking down a Paragon. High-risk, high-reward I guess...

Melt supply fleets in seconds my odysee or hammerhead having nothing to do with the actual offesive play...

Tarsuses getting melted on the spot by talons wether or not they have PD

Enforcer getting overloaded in seconds by broadswords

Pirannhas handle whatever's left to deal with...
