Can someone tell me how to edit a fighter's hull, armor, and system? I want to see how the trident would function with slightly heavier armor and the Burn Drive or Maneuvering Jets system, mostly as a joke, but I can't seem to find where those things are defined

Open data\hulls\ship_data.csv in Excel or similar and have at it.

Getting Burn Drive to work well with bombers requires a custom AI, which is considerably more complicated.

after some thought, Trident honestly isn't a bad fighter. It's just that carriers are so OP limited, you will rarely ever get to use the Trident... And the bomber AI tends to lose a lot of bombers on accident too. This will get fixed next update

Tbh at 25 OP, having 4 Atropos and 500 shields per a fighter is really nice, even if it's slow, it doesn't matter as much for Astral. If only the fighters didn't choose to ram their face into the enemy when they are overloaded though. Then the fighter would be million times better

But paying 18 OP for 3 atropos that gets fired more often is... better.

And it's not like the Dagger wing is a great choice, it's just better than the Trident. I've tested having Tridents, even on modded ships with more OP available, they're just not very good.  The Astral is about the only thing that can use them well because the recall device means they don't have to do the slow flight back to rearm, and I don't think that should be considered as the entirety of how to make them good...  they should be at least usable without the dagger being flat out superior on other carriers.
