@Himemiko

Ok so I tried playing and the performance feels better, but for some reason it will randomly start heavily lagging/stuttering both in combat and in the game map. Also I notice the fps counter says idle: 1% but my cpu/gpu are barely under any load. Ive tried using both the 4gb and 8gb files. I also tried adaptive files but no difference. I also set those recommended settings to false in the core settings file. I think it might be some sort of memory leak….

For MODDERS:

You can use this to debug your starsector mods, really helps for testing when you need to reload a bunch of times without getting the "to many saves in memory" errors when debugging your mod. Just use the settings file in this mod to your vm options and use the java version this mod is using.

Did you try the Garbage Collector file?

this is caused by the game waiting the large page available, use the one inside "alternative vmparams" to skip this.

Hello, can you enlighten why that allocation fails? Too large xms\xmx or what? (6g on 16g ram, pagefile is system-managed, win10)
And is there a point to use newer openjdk build like 23-20 instead of 23-7?
And thanks for the work!

So I followed the instructions, unzipped the starsector folder, then put the kitsunebi stuff in the right places (folder 0 into starsector, 1 chose the miko-r3.txt  3gb since steamdeck has 8gb into the starsector folder.

I ran the kitsunebi.sh file with konsole and it complains about not finding the despite being in that correct location

Thank you for the mod and clear instructions!

Performance does feel better, but after playing a bit it gives error when saving "Failed to rename savegame Save a copy"
Anyone ran into this problem?
Game is installed in default path Program Files x86
