A UNSC officer was setting up a device in a large room, he was to brief the UAF officers being transferred to UNSC ships on the ships and weapons in the UNSC fleet. He flips through the slides real quick to ensure they're all there as he takes his hat off and sets it on the desk. He checks the time as the UAF officers walk in and take seats as he sighed a bit, how was this not a nightmare? Cat girls and fox girls and robots, and he had to teach them.
“Alright cadets listen up, I will be telling you about the weapons and ships of the UNSC that you will serve upon! Listen closely, failure to do so could result in death due to not knowing about a critical weapon! We will start with the Mako class and lancer class corvette!”
He clicks a button and the slide changes to a Mako class corvette in AA config with goal keepers and M85 point defense turrets.
“This is the Mako, the smallest ship in the fleet and the only non-MAC capable ship, 532 feet long and weighing in at 28 tons this will be your AA ship, its fast but of course lightly armed and armored and should not be expected to take on larger ships, it’s usual armament are goalkeepers, our anti air chainguns, and M85 point defense turret, our anti fighter auto-cannon”
He clicks a button as it switches to the lancer class corvette.
“The lancer is a small over-gunned and under-equipped corvette, more in-line with hit and run tactics while being the smallest MAC enabled ship in the fleet. It’s 1,120 feet long, unfortunately is weight and armaments are not available at this time”
It now switches to a Paris class frigate and a stalwart class frigate.
“The workhorse of the UNSC the paris fulfills the frigate role and continues to do so. It is MAC enabled but limited in armament, its saving grace is how cheap it is to produce one. 1,755 feet long and weighing in at 1.3 million tons it blurs the line between frigate and destroyer for some, the stalwart is a slightly smaller version trading armor for speed.”
It shows a charon class frigate now.
“This is our support and logistics ship, you will never see them fighting unless they are forced to, and they pack a punch as they are MAC enabled and fighters and missiles won’t have a effect provided the charon is equipped appropriately.”
It switches to a halberd class destroyer as the officer took a drink of water as he poured something in his water and shook it as he read his own slide, he regrets staying up to finish the slides.
“This is the halberd class destroyer, when it comes to fire power and armor the Halberd will become your workhouse, Featuring a double MAC cannon that can be fired in quick succession and 6 PD spots, a general armament includes 2 goalkeeper chainguns and 4 M85 autocannon’s. 1,590 feet long and weighing in at 1.8 million tons its befitting of its destroyer title.”
He switched the slides now, 2 slides left for the ships then the weapons, he could only hope he had not bored the cadets into sleeping yet, it now swaps to a halcyon class light cruiser.
“This is the halcyon class light cruiser. Know it well it is our capital ship until we can get marathons out. It is 3,840 feet long and weighs in at 11 million tons it is a beast of a ship. With one of the largest MAC guns in the fleet, 10 archer pods, and 15 PD points assaulting the ship is no easy task, if your assigned to one there will not be a moment of downtime”
A UAF officer raised her hand as the UNSC officer looks and lets the fox girl talk.
“Thats a light cruiser? It’s bigger than the solverina!”
The UNSC officer chuckled a bit.
“And we’re just getting started, while you may have more weapons we utilize MAC cannons to end a fight before it starts”
The slide swaps to the last ship, the Punic class super carrier, the London, capital ship of the 5th fleet.
“This is a Punic class supercarrier,13,132 feet long and weighing in at 670 million tons its deserving of the name ‘Super Carrier’ Its one of the few ships capable of using our Break Water coilguns, one of our few heavy guns designed for ship to ship combat, nicknamed ‘Mini Macs’. The Punic is MAC enabled with two of the biggest MAC guns in our fleet. It has 6 hangar bays ready to deploy and is not afraid to be the only thing holding the line”
He swaps to weapons, this would be simple at least.
“Archer missiles are the UNSC’s signature swarm missile coming in three variants, EMP, HE, and KE, EMP disables electronics, HE specializes in ripping bulkheads apart, and KE softens up armor and shields so a mac cannon can cut through”
The next slide shows the M85 and the M910 Rampart.
“These two weapons are near indistinguishable as they fulfill the same role and do the same thing. They are dedicated anti fighter weapons operated by the ships AI. You’ll likely never man such a weapon except in simulations, that is all officers, DISMISSED”
He powers everything down as the officers leave, all but one, the fox girl from earlier, he looks up from the device he was using.
“Do you have a question ms iris?”
She looks up at him now and speaks
“Why are you here? You clearly don’t like working with us”
He puts on his officer cap, lowering it so his eyes aren’t visible like most UNSC officers.
“That’s simple, the admiral told me to”
He leaves before iris can say anything, she soon left after him as the lights turn off.
