Ships just conglomerate into a ball and do nothing...
« on: November 19, 2023, 02:57:53 AM »

Something strange happened... I didn't get the whole footage of it, but the point was that when the fight started and there were two enemy phase ships, my entire fleet just bunched into a ball and did nothing. They just hanged about and waited in the middle of nowhere...

This only changed when I gave them the full assault order... Using a Steady doctrine setting.

I'll see if I can replicate this and then post a video of it happening in detail. It was happening during this fight for like 30 seconds and it only stopped when I gave a full assault.

Btw the stats of the ships is slightly modded, (bit more mobility, equal shields, etc. I can mail my build of the game if it that's necessary)

Thanks for the report - this is intended anti-phase-ship behavior. As you noted, a "full assault" cancels it.

I was hoping this was someone else reporting this weird, seemingly random bug where ships get stuck and do not respond to any orders, they just become stationary. I wouldn't even know where to start with replicating it, it just happens sometimes, vanilla, no phase ships on the field or any apparent reason for it. I will try to at least record it some day so I can show how it looks.

I like that the fleet finally knows how to act against a phase ship composition, (that mercenary bounty was a freaking infuriating experience to look at, solely managing fleet here).
But is it possible to tune it down a bit? Like make it so that fleets can still maneuver about and just have some sort of a decent coverage instead of just... Standing still and waiting...
I'm sure, you're already working on that though.

Hmmmm...

It was hilarious, I hard 5 cruisers deployed and the enemy has only 2 phase frigate left, and yet my ships just clumped together and avoided the frigates despite me setting an elimination order on them. I didn’t know full assault cancels it out so I just popped open console and entered the nuke command.

Did you run a reckless, aggressive, steady doctrine?

Fearless, they are Sovereign-class fast cruisers.

Well too bad, you are stuck with me no matter where you go.
