I don't know, I think people will want costume weapons but vanilla weapons are easier to balance. We'll see, if we get cool picture for weapons then we'll get you custom weapons for sure.

Thanks Vandala for posting the pics. I am still working on it, but I don't have a lot that I can do as of now.  I am very happy that people still want to see it developed .

Okay, after much work, and some procrastination , I am at a point were i want you to say what you think about the mod and maybe were I can make it better. as of now the mod only consists of 4 ships and 6 missions, campaign related stuff will come later.

The AlicornSD3 in the mission MissingV2 seems to have problems being hit by anything. I can't damage it at all, shots just go right throe it.

The luna ship has a anti-matter blaster in the same weapon group as two graviton beams, this will not do.

We really do need pictures of our own so people can easily identify pony mod mission from others. For now we can use this mock one until we find something better:

Simply placing it in the mission folder and overwriting the original icon there should do the trick.

I have to say that I find the current weapon layout horrible, not the turret placement, just the weapons used in the variants. I'll get back on that later, I'm going to need to make some lists first.

I would also like to see versions of the ships that do not have engine trails/fire if that's possible.

yeah that was the big problem I had is, I have trouble balancing weapons layouts.

Update:
fixed a handful of problem one of them being collision detection with the ship.
I also removed the engines by Vandala request. and replaced the mission icon with something more pony.

There is something weird going on with one of the needlers on Celestia's first ship. Its rotation speed is not the same as the other.

EDIT: The problem is that one is a hardpoint while the other is a turret.

EDIT: There is also something weird going on with the turrent movement on one of the other ships, its missile turrets don't want to move at all.

EDIT: Not having engine trails definably feels weird, without them there is not sign of movement from your ship. It gives to much of a disconnect.

Oh great first we have "My Little Fortress" in DF, now we have "MLP: Tachyons Are Magic". That's how you know your game is big time, a pony mod. Seriously though, this looks like a well designed and thought out mod so far not just "herp derp ponies in space lol". Good work so far and if your mod stays at the same quality it is now you may make a space brony (bronie?) out of me.
