As for the 'To the MOOOOOOOOOOOON' thing, if it was possible to use a different sprite for the station, you could totally use a sprite of a moon as the station for the Lunar Republic. Is such a thing possible? Pretty much everything from Starfarer can be rebuilt if you look at mods like Fight For Universe or Ascendancy.

What's an average resolution for a ship and what are the average ship classes for this game? (never played starfarer)

That all depends on the type of ship

fighter are between 32x32 and 64x64

and bigger ships like battle ships can range from 100x100 to 400x300

some were around there.

I'm not a pony fan, to be honest I find all ponies a bit creepy (the live and the animated ones alike), but I do like to help out with projects that operate on 'outside the box' concepts. Your project is clearly one of those and you guys need help badly (the train thing)

I'm handy with graphics so I think I might help you with that part of your mod. I made a quick concept ship, with simple model and textures, that I think has just the right mixture of sane old school sci-fi'ness and mlp 'touch'. Would this look like a capital ship of the Solar Empire?

maya for modelling and UV mapping, gimp for texturing and 2d-edits

This... Is just a "quick concept?" O_O SOMEONE HIRE THIS EPIC PERSON NOW WITH ALL THE MONIES WE GOT.

That is stunningly good. And, for not being into MLP, I actually think that really represents Celestia rather well. It looks very heavenly in design, which accurately reflects her position as, well, pretty much a god. (Kind of sad they call her a "Princess" when she's the matriarch, though.

)
Quick idea: Anyone up for throwing in a sort of "secret weapon" ship with the rest of the mod? I really would love to see something like this done for Chrysalis or Discord. >:3

(For those non-bronies: Chrysalis is queen of the changelings. Think shapeshifting-Xenomorph if it were squee.

Thx. I used the pics IIE16 Yoshi posted above to get an idea of how two factions could look like. Both characters create a lot of contrast in terms of colours and shapes, so reflecting it on ships is rather easy. Look:

And if I'll do more ships, I'll definiately am going to do that :Some Chrysalis Fan-Art. This thing is awesome.

This could be problematic. Sure we can do it but if we do we miss out on the game features of the different tech ships going at it. The game would become just high-tech vs high-tech.

Zebster10, a balloon can be made but consider that you can't see the underside of it. It's only a top-down game after all. Perhaps if we modified it to have interesting features on the sides of the balloon instead of on its underside.

Silly me, I've bin so focused on Luna and Celestia that I didn't consider those other characters. We can have way more factions, think Diamond Dogs, Griffins, Changelings, and various other small factions for the other talking creatures (cows, donkeys and minotaurs for example)

Thx. I'm not sure about the goat-lion-otherstuff-thing but I'll try my skills with the shapeshifter. Evil luna could be a variant of ship for Lunar Empire. I have a whole next week off, so with luck, I'll make you guys a whole neat fleet. From what I can tell, there's no mlp spaceship art anyways, so it could be used for other games too.
