Game crashes after hitting start tutorial

i am getting a JSONArray(8 ) not found.  i am trying to play vanilla no mods...i have no idea what to do...

Hi - this sounds like there's an issue with some of the game files. Could you try saving off any mods/saves/etc you care about, and then re-downloading and reinstalling the game, after manually deleting the Starsector/ folder?
