My current one in campaign, I tried to go a different route (but similar to you) since MkIX seems like an optimal pick 90% of the time. Cool ship on paper but for me it's still kinda peculiar, stingy on OP as well.

NVM, Just me being illeterate.
Just in case there is any misunderstanding : You don't actually need to put a Large Ballistic in the Large Ballistic slot to get the highest benefit of Ballistic Rangefinder. You could put a HVD in there and it would have 1100 range all by itself.

(Not quite! The bonus goes up to 900 base range maximum, when there's a large ballistic slot. So the HVD would not be affected, but for example a heavy mortar or an Arbalest in that slot would get range 900.)

Oh yeah I'm aware, and it's cool that it works that way. I just don't see myself putting any medium ballistic on a Manticore as that large ballistic is pretty much the whole point of the ship. I'm just glad that a Mjolnir build can mostly work with enough skills, I've always wanted a ship that can use this weapon and not feel bad.

Admittedly, this is a support build to go with Eradicators, but I still feel like Mjolnir is too hungry for this ship.

I feel like Mark IX + harpoons is my favorite unskilled build. I'm messing around with the Mjolnir and an officer right now.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see medium missile slots on a smallish hull? Pilum mass
The first thing that comes to mind when I see a large ballistic slot on a small hull? Gauss

With the manticore you can now have both meme builds in one ship!
Works surprisingly well, 12 of these took out 2 paragons losing only 1 ship.

Pilums are actually decently good now, so it's no surprise.

The shield shunt seems to help a lot with the poor flux management on the Manticore imo.
Also a Gauss cannon in the large mount + needlers absolutely *** everything

If you are going to spam out 12 Destroyers like that, they don't need Expanded Missile Racks when they all have Pilums. Try putting Nav Relay or Converted Hangar(Wasp wing) on them instead.

Even as a super cheap support Hellbore Canon carrier its very good
1 Hellbore canon 3LAC 2Pilum launcher max capcity th e rest in vent.

Can stand aginst anything and always support throught the pilum or superior range, it only struggle against frigates.

Kinetics plus Typhoons seems like a really good build for it to me. This specifically is with Ordnance Expertise *and* Flux Regulation, but even flying it myself without OE, it felt pretty nice - and with Missile Spec on the officer, it really doesn't need the builtin EMR that much. Could probably build in ITU plus something else instead. 3050 kinetic damage per full burst quickly gets destroyer shields into a range where a reaper can overload them, and a reaper-induced overload (especially if it is from two reapers hitting) gives enough time for you to get another volley in.

And yes, while I am playing with Starship Legends, this specific ship doesn't have any traits that would affect its flux stats - Ordnance Expertise is just that good.
