Uh, bug report.

When loading a given ship variant, Starfarer will crash and display a message saying something about not being able to find weapon slot "WS 1" on ship variant "Pike_fighter".

I tried messing with the slot name but it doesn't seem to have an effect.

Ideas?

Hmm, that's odd. And you tried fixing the weapon slot name in the .ship file, correct?

I'm not sure if this will be any help, but you could try placing this in the hulls folder. I'll be honest and say that I don't think it'll do much, given it's very likely just a repetition of what you've tried but who knows?

Trade Scavengers - Version 0.8 Release

New things:
  • Added a ship conversion system (more on that after the crunchy details)
  • New Ware: Conversion supplies. Like above, more on those later
  • New weapon: Storm Caster, think a shower-head that cleans with plasma. Well, less cleaning and more cooking, but you get the idea I hope.
  • Changed the look and functioning of both the Apollo cruiser and the Trebuchet artillery. Now, the Trebuchet is a built-in weapon to the Apollo, and the Apollo now looks more fitting to hold the weapon (plus this helps reduce the silliness of the gun when it was modular)
    Old:

    New:

Now, you may be wondering, what's all this "conversion" business that I've been havering on so much about? Well, simply put, it's turning a vanilla ship into a Trade Scavengers ship, if that wasn't obvious beforehand :P.

How to convert:
  • 1. Acquire the requisite Conversion Supplies ware for the conversion process
  • 2. Acquire the requisite ship type for the conversion process (NOTE: Some ships need a specific variant to get the right hull. This is not a bug, just how the system was made up. Nothing can be done AFAIK to avoid this)
  • 3. Place the Conversion supplies and the ship in the Abandoned Mining Facility
  • 4. Wait an ingame day (for the script to run)
  • 5. If all went well, you should have a shiny, new ship hull to equip and wreak havoc

Requirements list:
Spoiler
Apollo      -   400   (Condor)
Asphodel   -   1000   (Uses Atlas_Hull variant only!)
Crawler   -   150   (Hammerhead)
Einherjar   -   200   (Valkyrie)
Eviscerator   -   200   (Sunder)
Genesis   -   1000   (Gemini)
Hades   -   1000   (Uses Atlas_Standard variant only!)
Lasher(OVR)        100   (Lasher)
Ostrich   -   300   (Falcon)
Subjugation L   600   (Uses Conquest_Elite variant only!)
Subjugation R   600   (Uses Conquest_Hull variant only!)
Valhalla   -   550   (Venture)
Vanguard   -   1000   (Onslaught)
Yak       -   250   (Buffalo [Mk.I and II])
[close]

Many thanks to Verrius for writing up the script for the ship conversion.

Download from here, and the OP will also have a download link.

Umm...Umm...Umm...Umm...

EPIC

I'll get to this ASAP. :D

Although for things like changing the Onslaught to th Vanguard, you should get supplies back.  It's not like taking out a whole two pylons of the Onslaught won't give anything back. :P And some might require more than one ship, the Apollo, for example.  Is that possible?

I'm getting a strange error..

When I enter the Trade Scavangers station and switch from fighters to frigates view. game crashes to desktop with a window saying:

Fatal: Ship hull [pike] variant [pike_Fighter]: slot id [WS 1] not found for weapon [sabotpod]

Log says the same thing:

Spoiler
61873 [Thread-6] ERROR com.fs.starfarer.combat.String  - java.lang.RuntimeException: Ship hull [pike] variant [pike_Fighter]: slot id [WS 1] not found for weapon [sabotpod]
java.lang.RuntimeException: Ship hull [pike] variant [pike_Fighter]: slot id [WS 1] not found for weapon [sabotpod]
[close]

I've checked the hull file and the variant file and both files identify the slot as 'WS 1'

FIX: I've managed to stop it from crashing by renaming the weapon slot to WS 001.. no idea why, but that seems to have fixed it.

It should work just fine for 0.54. I was under the impression that all the ship stats and all that were untouched with the addition of character levels. Correct me if I'm wrong on that one though

Yes, there was one change on the ship_data.csv

theres another column before the "number" to set CARRIER or CIVIL ships

It's been over one and a half years since someone even posted here. :P I'd think not, unless K-64 wants to raise it from the grave.
