retreat and repair health % for fighter wings
« on: June 15, 2011, 05:08:27 PM »

I'd like for a way to specify a base % of the original wing health (all hull heath added up between all existing fighters and divided by the original hull health of all the fighters), at which point (perhaps based on pilot disposition, ie, aggressive vs. coward AI) they will retreat to a carrier to repair. (They may retreat early if they run out of ammo)

Mostly this is for allowing extremely light fighters and 2/1 fighter wings to behave properly, which currently can have... issues... under the current system, where they will behave in rather foolhardy manners, befitting of the design/role.

They basically do this already. A single-fighter "wing" will return to refit when it's down to about 33% health.  Hmm, that's probably too low, as when the hull is that low, chances are armor is mostly gone and the ship is about to explode. I don't know that I'd want this to be specified per-wing, but it does need to be a bit smarter about it. Duly noted.
