How do faction kill credits work?
« on: March 10, 2020, 10:58:07 AM »

Hi,

Can someone explain the faction related kill credits? Is it profitable to go to war against an enemy faction (whom you are at war with), for example, or is it defensive only for kills of ships invading allied systems? I am using Nexerelin, if that matters. Does alliances effect this mechanic?

Hi! Do you mean the faction commission payout? That will give a payout for any ship that is an enemy (hostile or lower relations) to your commissioning faction.

Its not a huge amount of money, but its a nice bonus on top of the other benefits of destroying faction fleets (high quality ships to recover from war fleet, lots of cargo from trade fleets).

Perfect! That's awesome for my next playthrough.

It just wasn't super clear or explained, but I was just sort of assuming it must work that way. It would be weird if it wasn't. I haven't really gotten deep enough to test it much. It must be somewhat dynamic, then based on relations.

Thanks for clarifying!
