The thought process on the macrocannons was to give players the most flexibility on how to outfit their ships as possible. That led to the decision of making each macrocannon be it's own slot. There's really only one size of macrocannon, the bigger ships just get more of the them. That's kinda how I interpreted it anyway. It's a blend of lore and starsector's fun which is tweaking loadouts.
Hmmm the problem with the 2x dmg and reload is the first volley would be so powerful in many cases that it will annihilate a lot of stuff too quickly. Reload time is currently 3.5 seconds. I felt like 4 seconds was too long. Maybe somewhere in the middle?
Max spread was 15. Upped to 20 to see how that affects things. Projo speed was 800, cut down to 500 to test.
I have the rulebooks and the emperor has strength 6 port / starboard weapons batteries. The image shows 4 cannons. I started with 4 cannons but it felt kinda weak in battle. I upped it to 8 to give it a bit more punch Just noticed I set them to ballistic, changed to hybrid like the other ships.
I'm pretty happy with the torps. Energy type boom since the engine is the warhead on those. Fast ships can dodge 'em ok.
Probably toughest to get "right" are going to be the lances. Think I had them high dmg / high flux but the problem is that the smaller ships like the Firestorm just don't have the flux to use it properly without giving it a gigantic flux reserve. Hmmm.
I forgot to mention the the plasma weapons have a weird glow on the projos, will fix.
CR to deploy Paragon shows as 20. Emperor / Retribution was 18. Upped to 25.
Someone spawn in the Avenger and tell me what ya think. The class name for the variant is battlefleets_imperium_avenger_standard
That reminds me that the variants don't have proper weapongroups setup.
Fuel range on the Paragon is 30. I tried to keep that in line with the 40k cap ships.
At least now we have a starting point to mold squish and shape
