Could you give me the code? A whole lot easier, il edit my other comment if you tell me >.^ do you like the ships otherwise? took me forever to get them done.
I can't, just look for it when you upload, it's to the right of the screen next to the image, and yeh, they look cool, unsure if they fit in with the starfarer style though :/

Looks like they're renders using extracted art assets, judging by the lack of running lights, window lights, and general shininess.

If you're going to add EvE ships to Starfarer, best make it a Total Conversion mod.

Worst case scenario... if all the assets are made (including turrets, although those could be an absolute pain!) then I imagine someone else might be able to handle the coding and scripting work.

I'd look into adding specularity and bumpmaps, though. Even from top down, a little lighting and shininess can go a long way. Alpha maps would also be incredibly important for the Minmatar ships that have semitransparent 'sail' parts.

An old Rokh I rendered in DAZ, for instance;

Kitbashing some civilian ships. What do you think of these two:

They look amazing, but the blue tanker piece from the dram doesn't really fit there, it has pipes and stuff supposed to go elsewhere but they just stop by the edge of the piece. so you can clearly see that it is kit bashed so to say, but that's just me trying to find errors, like i said, it looks amazing. :P

here is one of my ships, cant say it looks better, and beware, the pic is gigantic

Valkyria loves his frankenslaught.

Also I agree with him. I think it CAN work, but right now the pipes just don't make sense.

Also it's not good to break consistency with the game, if it's possible to do without looking ugly, if its for holding fuel, it should be red.

if you want that piece to stay, what you could do is have it surrounded or have the edges rendered underneath or something, an example

Look at the rear turret mount on this, its like its surrounded by an armor cupola, you could do something similar with that tanker piece. like having the hull around it go up in an angle using shadows, or simply just ad a line 1 pixel in on every side so it looks like the tank is inside the ship.

I agree, it had a rather ugly looking hard cut running through it horizontally, right above the fuel tank.

I have fixed it by adding a graphic similar to what runs below the tank. Giving the illusion that the tank deck is lower than some of the other parts of the ship. I also changed the colours to match more with the vanilla style.

This is obviously a haphazard, pieced-together, destroyer. It is about the length of a Valkyrie troop transport and has practically a similar grade of armament. I'm thinking of doing a couple more civilian-grade ships that are pieced together in a haphazard way. Perhaps turn it into a small mod that adds more civilian ships to the game.

I like the ideas here, though I personally still think the tank looks a bit pasted-in. Maybe some smoothing/blurring and some shadow effects at the ends of the pipes and joints to add a bit more depth to it all?

On a side note, I made a somewhat similar ship (though not civilian) for my new mod about a week ago. Doing something similar to what I did with the tanks (which was still a very simple paste job) might be an option worth considering as well... :P

@Erick, I really preferred the blue.

Really? Well, I stuck with the new colourscheme. Improved on the design somewhat. Extended some of the pipelines and other minute detail work.
