Happend twice to me now, with one Pheaton in my fleet each time. They got destroyed during escape. The first time I was unable to emergency burn and was thus reengaged. This time I'm suddenly drifting helpless in Hyperspace :(

Thank you, finally got to this - fixed! Was a similar (also reported, but can't find the thread) issue with cargo. It was accidentally basing the loss fraction on the reduced cargo/fuel capacity rather than the pre-battle one.
