The points FooF made about the Heavy Blaster are extremely pertinent, and I think that the Ion Pulser has almost made the Pulse Laser obsolete. I briefly considered if a nerf to the Ion Pulser was therefore necessary, but given the improvements to ballistics, I believe that a nerf to the Ion Pulser would severely degrade the utility of many High Tech chassis. I think the Pulse Laser needs to be improved so that the Heavy Blaster, the Ion Pulser, the Kinetic Blaster and the Pulse Laser are "sidegrades" and offer the player a different advantage.

An increase in the base damage of the Heavy Blaster makes sense, as it would improve its effectiveness against armour. The Ion Pulser is good at providing EMP and suppression. The Kinetic Blaster needs to provide better efficiency against shields, because its current iteration does not justify its cost. And finally, I think the Pulse Laser should offer flux efficiency and hard flux generation. What if each "shot" of the Pulse Laser emitted 3 or 5 "bullets", somewhat like the Heavy Autocannon or Plasma Cannon?

They are... kind of true.

The thing is that the issue with "having the flux to fire 240 flux/second but not 720 flux/second is..." incorrect. Its basically always better to fire more guns and run up your own soft flux. A gun that was just two pulse lasers for the same OP would obviously be better than a gun that was a single pulse laser despite having the same flux to kill.

So i think that made the heavy blaster weak is the Ion Pulser buffs and phase lance buffs. Because previously the heavy blaster was "i want to flux dump" but now you flux dump with the Ion Pulser and you don't even lose anti-armor because you back it up with the newly efficient phase lance. Pulse lasers are more efficient and are good, but don't really factor into the fact that the HB has been left a bit by the wayside*

*I still think heavy blasters are fine to OK. But i also don't think that every gun in the medium energy slot needs to be "good"

I also use it on my Hyperions, but they're extremely niche in terms of their application.

Yeah. These high flux inefficient weapon tend to make ship lose flux wars. However SO has so much flux it is not a concern. Or you can be so fast you can get out and active vent.
