Add more expensive tug ship/buff existing tug ship that allow you to make your slower ship 2-4 burn(for the most costly one)faster.

I have no coding&spriting knoweldge,this is just a suggestion.

Like the Ox-tug,but,also like this one(loco) with a better burn buff,i know some faction mod like Imperium add tug ship,but those one are combat oriented and don't realy buff the burn rate.

If all tugs raise the burn rate by one point and only one point it's because raising it one point more literally break the whole game balance. Unless you like to be caught by Capital-ships when you fly your starting frigate.

Tugs stack with augmented engines, I think, despite the tooltip saying they don't. Or I was getting some other factor boosting my burn that I was not aware of. I had a 7 burn ship doing 9.

Tug does stack with augmented engine in term to increase a ship's max burn but tug itself can not have augmented engine.
