    Is there a way I can go into the files and disable the enemies being able to retreat during RANDOM BATTLES, I'm fine with it in the campaign, got a Dominator, Venture, 3 destroyers and like 7 fighter wings. But I really want to test out how a Paragon Battleship does against a Dreadnaught (Okim's Ironclads mod) I'm pretty sure the Dreadnaught could beat the Paragon save that all the Paragon would have to do is get out of its range and spam Tachyon Lances. But everytime the enemy has a Dreadnaught, and I have a Paragon, they always just end up retreating pretty much right when I start the fight, its really bugging me, and I want to know if I can disable it via editing JAVA files.

    I have no experience in creating new ships and that kind of stuff whatsoever, but what if someone made a mod that included modern day ships/fighters just set in space? I think that would be cool, like Predator Drones, AC 130 Spectre, F-18 Super Hornet etc, I think that would be pretty sweet.

Brawler is nice, I only found them to be just a bit too weak, even for a frigate. Also I agree with Rhyden, the Astral carrier is a bit underrated, the fighters wouldn't be able to do their jobs without it, and the 3 flight decks are indeed amazing. I wonder if there will be bigger carries?  :o
Well I have mostly been dueling frigates one on one, haha.

I doubt you'd find a carrier bigger than the astral. Maybe one that had an extra deck but less weapons?
Yeah, maybe just a complete carrier, sort of like the superfreighter cept with a lot more decks and only a couple pd lasers or something, would be cool, had like 8 flight decks or something haha.

Well, I love most of the ships in this awesome game, both aesthetically and efficiently. these are just my fav ships(not in any particular order):

1: Dominator Assault(has a *** ton of armor, good offensive and PD weapons as a whole, and I love the way it is designed, like a hardy old troop that doesn't rely too much on advanced technology, just raw strength)

2: Warthog Assault Wing( 3 of these tough fighters in one wing is pretty nice, good armor, decent speed, awesome maneuverability, and packs quite a punch, I also like the old tech style of the way they look.)

3:Wolf Assault( looks incredibly cool, has a nice mix of weapons, 2 annihilator rocket launchers, 3 IR pulse lasers, and 1 hardpoint pulse laser, I love the way the weapon layout makes it look.)

4:Tempest Attack(now this thing is just ridiculously good, 250 top speed, good flux capacity and shield efficiency, looks really cool, high damaging harpoon missiles are fun along with the support that it can provide with the Graviton beam, and it *** *** up with the pulse laser when it gets close)

5:Aurora Cruiser( looks really *** cool, 3 HIL's and has a really fast speed for its size, I love the support that it provides and its full shield coverage is really nice, along with the hurricane MIRV missiles, just an overall really good ship)

6: and finally the Astral Carrier( I think it's a bit too underrated because it doesn't have that much hull integrity and armor, but it looks really sweet, good PD weapons like a carrier should have, and the fact that it has 3 flight decks makes it all the better, sending in a bunch of fighters and then the Astral with some Destroyer escorts and Cruisers to engage in the battle, seeing the fighters just coming back and repairing and going back to *** *** up, so awesome)

Yep, must have corrupted it or something, just reinstalled everything. Works just fine now, now I may go back to enjoying this awesome mod and game.

 Yeah, my OS is Windows XP, after trying more things I just uninstalled starfarer, going to reinstall it and all the mods and see if I can't get it working again, because lately this game has been taking all my time =]. thanks for the response, though.

Hey, I've been playing this game for a while now, just haven't bothered to register. I'm having trouble with the Ironclads mod; whenever I start it, it says: Fatal: Fatal: weapon_data.csv I don't know how to fix it, tried reinstalling and some other things but it won't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
