This looks freaking sweet. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

This game is way too expensive for what it's turned out to be. Campaign is fairly standard and the only other option is multiplayer.

If you're expecting Homeworld 3, look elsewhere (also Homeworld Remastered is getting a HUGE patch and any fans of the game should definitely check that out). It has the pace of Ground Control with the nuance of...an RTS without much nuance. Weapons fire respecting terrain is about the only interesting mechanical aspect of it (kind of like SupCom except here it's a lot more obvious). The game isn't bad but it's nothing special compared to the classics, so if you're an RTS veteran, stay away from this game. Other people who are less experienced with RTS and looking for something to cut their teeth on I think would enjoy it but I would still recommend waiting for a sale to pick it up.

I started a blind LP of the campaign on the hardest difficulty when the game came out and immediately regretted it. It's beatable but man is it a slog. I still haven't finished it.

It looks like it's got quite a lot of gun for a transport ship.

Can't pretend to care.
Why even post? :v

Ehhhh. This doesn't really sound like a very useful or fun weapon.

-snip-
It's like killing regular soldiers trying to rescue their wounded: there aren't any laws against it, but it's frowned upon. Bad faith is usually not in either side's interest because it gives your enemy an excuse to use the same kinds of tactics.

Can't you justify ditching crew in space as putting them in life boats and leaving them a distress beacon?

It's a good base, right now it appears unfinished.

You don't really need runways in space, unless you have a catapult for launching fighters.

I like to think that the ships with runways are also atmospheric craft that can launch fighters in a high altitude environment.
Headcanon accepted.

Well, almost every object in the universe generates radio EMR. IRL we have interference studies to try and find the best way to place antennae. If you've seen those big farms of gigantic satellite dishes, those are for receiving radio transmissions, because the further they travel the more they spread out, and the harder they are to catch in their entirety. You also get higher bandwidth with laser comm so you're less likely to get interference.

NASA planned to establish and internet link with the cancelled Mars Telecom Orbiter using laser optics because it would have given them a lower ping rate than by radio.

Actually, the settings in Photoshop is not a texture tool per se but I think it makes shading brushes work with a limited palette of colors (lets say 4 shades of blue), so it produces shade via dithering using only the colors you selected when shading or blending. That way you can create retro pixel art much easier. I have never really used it myself though but I believe MShadowy (author of the Shadowyards mod) has played with it recently and could probably tell you if you ask him nicely.

Also, regarding creation of ships, I think most people on this forum does at least some amount of pixel work when making ships, especially in the later stages as some manual editing is always needed even if they have shrunk a larger painting or used a 3d model. Myself I always draw and kitbash my crap on a 1:1 scale, so I often poke around with individual pixels on any details throughout the whole process.
Heh, I can't afford Photoshop anyways. Thanks though!

That goes without saying I think!

You modders are great, you guys got me into pixel art.
