I would like to make it obtainable by methods other than spawning it in, but I don't know how to code it being obtainable via salvaging the Domain Mothership in Starsector.
I'll eventually look in the modding help guides and find out how, but for now you'll have to spawn it in.

I think the Probe is around Cruiser size, and the Survey ship is around a Capital size

The descriptions for both of them basically say the same thing. They go out to explore and survey, and they both can be manufactured by the Mothership.

Since the Probe and Survey Ship seem to differ only in size, why would the Domain bother making the larger Survey Ship if a smaller Probe can do the job?

I know I might be taking it too seriously, trying to find meaning in something probably irrelevant. But hypothetically, why would the Domain bother?

I don't usually have carriers, so let me know if 8 fighter bays is way too much. It just makes sense to me since it's so massive, it would have the space for them.

Yea, I've been thinking about buffing the turn, nerfing accel, and adding a few fighter bays. Thanks for the feedback!

Yea I'm using mods, so maybe that's it, though I don't know how any of them could edit the spawnrates for this.

I though low danger meant a few smaller [REDACTED], not bunches of Radiants

System with a low danger beacon pinging away. I entered it, and found three groups of Radiants just chilling dormant. Two of the groups have ~4-5 each, while the third had 8.
Just want to know if this happened to anyone else.

I think it's possible to turn a station into a ship, but I don't think functionality would be kept. If a station was in your fleet, how would you interact with it to enter it? normally you'd have to land on it, but how can you land on something in your fleet?

Adds in a custom ship that mimics the Domain Mothership.
Ship is not automated, and needs crew and human captain/officer.
Currently it is only available via console command and/or blueprint.

Positives-
Incredible amount of hull integrity, and great armor.
Targeting Supercomputer built in. (Increases ballistic and energy weapons range by 250%, however Point Defense only gets a 60% bonus)
8 Fighter bays

Negatives-
Only 4 medium weapons for it's size (2 energy, 2 ballistic), and 12 small energy weapon slots.
Abysmal Turn speed
Top speed of 28
Massive
No shields

Overall,
S-Tier tanking, potential PD capability, and fighter bay amount,
F-Tier *** for everything else.

I got most of the numbers from adding the mothership and all of the attachments together and accounting for the guidelines, so let me know if bits are too OP or anything.
