Hi,
I have no clue whether or not this is a vanilla issue, but considering I run modded, I decided to post this here, it is more of "I'm interested if anyone else is experiencing this, or if this is a me thing." sort of thread.

To get to the core of the issue, I've discovered that when you happen to have a lot of small ships (Frigates/Destroyers, mostly a wolfpack playstyle) with, I would say, excessively increased weapon range across the board, the game seems to chug rather significantly. To put forward some numbers. On my specific system. My battle size is set at 450(larger than intended, yes I know) if I put 20 frigates on the board against a large fleet of anyone essentially I would be sitting at solid 60FPS with 30ish% of cpu power left. However, if I use the Innocuous Targeting Core from Yunru which is by far the most ridiculous range increase at 100% of a multiplier. In that exact same battle, same ships, same circumstance I will now drop to give or take high 40s low 50s FPS with a big fat 0% of spare CPU power.

And no, before people go and say it, this isn't an issue with Yunru as I've tested this with baseline Targeting core, even with skills like Gunnery implants which grant increased range. General thing is, higher % of range increase per each individual ship in battle, the worse the performance. So obviously, removing the range fixes it, I was simply wondering whether it's an issue on my side and I should look into troubleshooting it, or whether it's a quirk of the base game.

After lurking for a bit, I have to come out and say this. Tahl can you please stop making so many amazing mods, I only have so much RAM and choosing amongst them is not an option for me.

Have to admit, the new update caught me a bit off guard, I have increased fleet size up to 60 ships and at the time of the update had 53 nanoforges on board. 17 of which were pristine, suddenly not only did I not use supplies, but was producing a very nice surplus.
