General Discussion / Ship Captain questions

I've read several stuff about captains for individual ships to be implemented at later stages and a few questions popped up.

As it stands, all the ships attempt to dodge missiles/torps coming at them. Will green/newly minted captains dodge less efficiently or is dodging a crew experience thing?

Will there be a type of captain who would prefer taking out an enemy ship's engines first before finishing them off?

Will captains gain a new trait/personality over time?


I've got some more questions in my head, but I still need to organize my thoughts in order to put em out.

I would agree that the overall sfx design is pretty good, I have some gripes with some sounds though, like the needle thing sounds abit off for me. light autocannons could also use some more oomph to it

my current small fleet renamed consists of 2 frigs, a carrier and 2 wasp wings.

ANS Reliant - Lasher Class Frigate
ANS Bremen - Lasher Class Frigate
ANS Endeavor - Condor Class Light Fire Support Carrier

the premise of a 2d X3: TC :P

other than that, I was a big fan of Battleships Forever, same 2d-topdown starship game but it let you make your own ships.

it's kinda like a LEGO 2d space rts

Also, I like the fact that Starfarer is somewhat like a Space Admiral sim where you don't need to micro every single ship apart from your own
