I don't really know what to say to this. You're telling me something is broken/imbalanced but you're refusing to provide details?

On a side note, would anyone be upset if Atticus was removed?

Well I guess ill let you in on my secrete.  Behold the mighty shield shunt!  Never overload again.. just keep firing all guns!  To that effect I give you the Devastator cannon.  Mount those on all your L mounts.  M mounts get Auto cannons.  Shield go down.. Hull go boom.  Top it off with auto repair systems Armored mounts and Target core.  Make it the flag ship... and it can Tank and lay waist to 3x fleets and stations.  Even Tesseracts are no match for it.  The fighters disappear, larger ships are simply overwhelmed by the AOE and DPS of Devastator cannons. 

Try it.  Its insane.

Hi there what to give a shout out to the Terringzean.  It might be the most broken ship in the game.  It can by its self take on 3x pirate fleets.  and others.  I curb stomped the Tesseracts with it.  I can't divulge my loadout.  But I will say all hull mods and weapons were Vanilla.

There is always the good old Hammer Head with 2x chain guns and 2x light auto cannon.  Give it safety overrides.  and let the fun begin. 

Also anything with 2x high intensity lasers.  The tri lance Sunder. 

Low tech designs that max armor and have no shields.  its silly.  they just keep shooting and never overload flux.

I'm just starting to branch out from the vanilla game.  so pardon my ignorance. 

Does this make the game feel more Master of Orion 2 like?  say where factions will actively spread out and need to devote to research?  Maybe a starting system each? 

Seems to me in the Vanilla game your faction can quickly become OP farming alpha cores and colonizing like everything.  Wile in Nexerelin seems the Hegemony will just eventually capture everything but the pirates and indies.

Im not as familiar with some of the big overhaul mods.  But was wondering if there were a combo to basically turn this game into a spiritual remake of Master of Orion 2.  With 1 starting planet.  tech research. And factions expanding? 

Id imagine it would be hard.  As you need fuel and heavy industry to even get a fleet out of the home system. 

Just might be fun.  A race to claim space. 

But that would entail a more macro control of multiple fleet task forces.  When they arrive you take over the battle like a combat scenario. 

Just a thought.

I love the idea of this mod.  I was thinking on how I could RP as a Ouster fleet.  They tend not to land on planets.

I am on Book 4 now oh the Hyperion Cantos.  I really see maybe a lot of parallel or inspiration in this game from that book universe. 

*1 Speed limit on ships or the crews could turn to paste.
*2 The Hageyra, The Pax Church, The Cyber Core AIs, Outback worlds, Nomadic(Pirate) or Ouster fleets. 
*3 Far Caster Gates.
*4 Fat line Interstellar coms network. 
*5 missing Earth

A few other subtle things. 

A fun way to build up a late game is yes to claim a Hyper shunt.  But linking it to the gates sends the Core AI's back to the sector.  Unite humanity with love and fight the AIs.

Is it just me or does this not work?  maybe installed wrong.  But I get the pads with the hull mods on them use the pad but no dosen't show up that I can add them.  I am using the latest version of the game....

OK so I just finished the First book in the Hyperion Cantos. 

Now I am inspired to try and play through the game as a Ouster fleet.  They raid worlds in the book but mostly live in space.  Not setting up permanent colonies.  They use asteroids and other  Space junks as mobile cities.  BUT they are not low tech.  Often they are higher tech than the Hegemony.  They just don't use far-caster gates and they shun AI cores.

SOOO!  a mod list to play as the Ousters starts with.
Supply Foraging
Fuel Siphoning
Asteroid ship pack
More hull mods
Star ship Legends

Im asking is there mods that lets one reoccupy or rebuild lonely orbital installations?  Like mining and siphon stations.  As the Ousters live mostly in space.  stopping by a manned mining station for metals or using a mining station or others for gathering or processing raw resources would be awesome.

Any other ideas for making a sorta self contained fleet would be cool.  Like a Tree ship or Flying garden that lowers supply costs.  Keeping extra crew is stasis(fugue).  Or asteroid mining maybe costing a crews life here or there accidents are prone to happen.  Raw ore is so cheep anyway not like your fleet will be spending all its time mining ore for profit.

I love this idea.  Supply cost scales based on tech level.  SOOO your fancy ships would have a rather higher parts requirement. 

You could balance this more with fuel cost.  Higtech requires more supply.  but uses less fuel.  Come on our cars today are a pain to repair but don't use as much fuel as cars from the 60s

Suggestions / Simple Hyperspace routs

With each map being different and the layout of storms and clouds different.  Mapping open lanes between constellations or stars would be nice.  I have been trying to cut costs and repair on a Iron mode play through.   Now I tend to avoid storms if I can.  But it would be fun to have some kind of map feature where you can draw lines that are in the clear.  See how you might want to plan missions if they fall along a fast corridor. 

Just a simple way to plot hyperspace routs through clear space.
