I just died for the second time (biting off more than I can chew again) and subsequently found myself the proud commander of a light tanker (although the shuttle before that, and the pair of IR blasters was brilliant ...)

Now obviously, this is enough to put the frighteners on anyone, particularly that Tempest that decided to engage me, and then pussyfooted around me, scared witless of my two vulcan cannons or possibly that deadly swarmer I was packing.

I ran off to the 'North' as he kept well out of my range. I did keep my swarmer threateningly pointed in his direction.

He had a damaged hull, but I really posed absolutely no threat to him whatsoever. I guess he should have moved in for the kill.
