Could we have permission to make shirt and other stuff for personal use/friends use without selling them? (Don't want to rip off Alex),
because I am thinking of getting lots of ship sprites and making them into either a poster or a shirt

If it's just for you, that's PROBABLY fair use. For friends? Dunno. Would be nice to get an official okay, though.

Merchandise would make pretty good marketing, cos, technically, people pay you for them to walk around with the game logo or something and generate interest in the game. So you make a profit without paying for advertising.
