I wish I didn't have to come back to the forums every week to see if the new version has been released. (I can't wait to try the new changes in 0.8.0)

Is there a way to just get notified by email when the new release is launched?

I know I could enable new topic notifications in the "announcement" forum but the post for 0.8.0 is already there before it's actually released so it won't work. So for now I've subscribed to the mailing list even though I'm not sure about the kind of content that gets shared through this.

Yep, that's exactly what it's for. As long as the message doesn't get sent to your spam folder, so I'd check that now and again
