I appreciate you sharing all this information, Andy; I shared the report on Facebook.

The evening news here in Oklahoma is almost silent about Hong Kong. Seems like they think it's far more important to report on things like some random car accident over 1000 miles away. I *** you not, that's the kind of vapid "news" I see regularly.
Thank you. The world is a chaotic place this year - Yemen, the Kurds, and also Catalonia. We are glad that the world is still hearing from us HKers, however short the duration. Please #StandWithHongKong and watch over us.

While HK govt refuse to establish an independent enquiry into police brutality in the protest, a group of HK citizens have performed their own investigation into police action. The English version of the report is now ready and can be read here:

There is also the HK democratic movement timeline at https://tl.hkrev.info/en/timeline/ and police misconduct database at https://tl.hkrev.info/en/police-timeline/

BREAKING: Civilians on train are stormed and beaten in HK, again. this time by the police.

Location is the Prince Edward MTR station, I pass through this place everyday I commute.

This bring back memories of what occured on 21th July, at the Yuen Long MTR station, where triad mobs attacked civilians on train.

A new round of global advertising campaign is out: printed ads on 18 newspapers in 13 countries, running from today to 30th August. See if you read it on your local newspaper.

Saw very little on the news, mainly trash crap online. Let's not even talk about television, my country information is more about politics, corruption and politics and fascism, at the moment.

What is the cause, what is happening? I really don't know anything, beside the chaos that has been going on in the city.
It all started when the Hong Kong government tried to pass a bill which gives them the power to detain and extradite people in Hong Kong to territories that Hong Kong does not have extradition agreements with, including mainland China and Taiwan. People protested, fearing this to be opening a way for the China authority to grab people beyond their judicial system's reach. The Hong Kong government ignored protester's demand, instead relying on the local police force to suppress gatherings with increasingly brutal approaches.

For a simplified timeline, try this.

For a detailed read, try this

This is the protester's 5 core demands

I am calling for fellow starfarers to help my city, Hong Kong.

As you may have known, Hong Kong has been in a state of civil unrest for 2 months, with multiple protests every week, usually ending in clashes between the protesters and police.

Tonight is the worst.

(WARNING: may contain graphic content)

Police firing tear gas canisters, restricted for outdoor use, into a railway station

A girl get shot in the head by beanbag round

She lost her eye due to globe rupture

brutal maltreatment of protester even when they're already under arrest

Police firing tear gas canisters, restricted for outdoor use, into a railway station

Diagnosis of the girl

brutal maltreatment of protester even when they're already under arrest

Assaulting retreating protesters/commuters alike in a railway station, including shooting pepper ball at almost point blank range

The attack was indiscriminate, with elderly among the victims

I hereby plead you to spread the words around, the world need to know about this atrocity. Please sign this petition. The Hong Kong Police Force is no longer serving the citizens it vowed to protect, they must be held accountable for their crime.

Hmm...I think you can already do that? Press U and AI will take over helm of your ship... Commanding in SS is unlike regular RTS thought, you put assignment on objectives (be it a point on the map eg. "Defend ", friendly ships eg. Escort, or hostile ships eg. Eliminate) by paying CP, and you can still micro a bit so that a particular ship handle a specific assignment and the AI would follow your orders to the best of their abilities.

Modempunk Space trading "subsim in space" game where you fly your ship using 90's computer, listen in to your surroundings by observing waveform on your sensor, and check your mail with command console. Do monitor your emission and crash dive into EmCon mode when pirates send a torpedo towards you, or if you're bounty hunting, to get within their baffles and wait for a firing solution. When hull is breaching and systems are frying, disconnect and unscrew the cover of the module and hope you brought some spare components to replace the busted ones. When you made it to the station and finish your contract, another NPC could be waiting for you at the bar, leading to another adventure.

If you're like me and like going dark and sneaking around, give it a look.

Oh, you can also fly your ship with command console.
