I have seen AI interrupt its ship systems, but it does it by chance, not to exploit it.  For example, Onslaught burn drives toward you, I move around it (perhaps Burn Drive of my own).  AI does not do "oh, no you don't - I'm vent cancelling to blast you now" or "psyche! thought I would move past you? Nope! <shoots>"
