How to disable fleet limit?

Never modded anything, but would be interested if someone would tell me how to remove the fleet limit of 25 ships (if its at all possible), and would that break the current saves that i have?

[starsector-core on Windows, or just the base SS folder in Linux]/data/config/settings.json -> "maxShipsInFleet":25,

Should work in existing saves without issue, although I haven't tested it myself.
