multiple offsets and damage
« on: May 26, 2011, 04:28:32 PM »

So do multiple offsets for beam weapons always aim to converge like on the guardian, or is there a way to have them fire in parallel like ballistic weapons?

Also, the damage listed in the CSV for the guardian: is that divided among the offsets or is that on a per-beam basis?

They're usually parallel - the guardian is a hack. The damage listed for it is the total for all the beams (regardless of whether it's the guardian or not), for ease of comparison in the spreadsheet.

ah ok...
So what currently specifies if it has the beams like the guardian or not? (or is it currently hardcoded specifically to the guardian?)

Yeah, that's why I said it's a hack :)

Edit: the guardian is a bit experimental and I'm not entirely happy with how it works.

Ok, that's what I thought: just wanted to make sure.
