Editing saves/stats to increase logistics capacity

I'm looking to increase my logistics rating past the current cap of 100.
None of the older methods I've seen on the forums seem to work for me so I was wondering if that data is stored somewhere else or if it can even be changed.

Here's how I changed it (I'm on Windows, if that makes a difference.):

Go to your Starsector folder (wherever that is) and enter it.

Then follow this path: starsector-core/data/config

Open settings.json in a text editor. Then change startingLogistics to whatever number you want it to be. Don't forget to make a backup of settings.json before you change things.

Is that supposed to work for existing games?

Actually, Logistic count has to be modified within the game.

The config only shows how many units can be deployed at once within a single battle, not fleet members in the campaign.

Scratch that previous information. Sorry, I was a little dizzy with the editing.

Yes, it is in the config, under the name "startingLogistics".


If that doesn't solve the problem, either make a mod out of it.

Or if you considered a strong level up boost, modify Character skill logistics in "\starsector-core\data\characters\skills\scripts\SkillData.json", named "LEADERSHIP_APTITUDE_LOGISTICS_BONUS" and/or "FLEET_LOGISTICS_LOGISTICS_STAT_BONUS".

That had no effect on my game. Do I have to start over from scratch?
I have no idea how to make mods for anything. I suppose this would be a simple one but I don't even know where to begin.

BUT you can use the mod called Save Transfer to start a new game with all of your stuff!

You can reduce the supply needs of each ship in the game, this also reduces the Logistics needed for each ship. Bonus points that you wouldn't care much supplies for every ship. :3

From here, "\starsector-core\data\hulls\ship_data.csv".

You can edit the save game file with a text editor.

I forgot exactly where, but somewhere in there is a line that is your character's logistics skill.

maybe search for "logistics skill" in the  file?

Thought the same, tried it out by changing LEADERSHIP_APTITUDE_LOGISTICS_BONUS from 3 to 4, and FLEET_LOGISTICS_LOGISTICS_STAT_BONUS from 5 to 6. Sadly, no effect even upon starting new game: each point I put into aptitude still gives 3 logistics, and each point of Fleet Logistics skill still gives 5. Pretty much baffled at this point, as this was the obvious place to go.
So, what did I did wrong, and what should I have done to improve logistics boost upon levelup?
