Random Rep improvement?

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I've been trying to abuse the cash pinatas that are bounties in Corvus on a new game and have only visited Askonia and Corvus, but somehow I got a random 15 point rep boost to Tri Tachyon.  It's not a bad thing but it seems strange to get it randomly without doing anything for them.  Any thoughts?

Did you happen to black market trade with them?  That could be why (at least, according to the description), but I've never, EVER had that popup before.

That would make sense, but the only one I used the Black Market on was Asharu to get the extra cash for abusing the Food shortage.  It might be just a one time thing though so it could just be a completely random rep that was given to me by mistake.  Who knows...

The message explains what the rep change is about, doesn't it? :)

If your standing isn't too low, then after a while, it'll improve a bit.

Ah ok, now that you mention it I did make an early run to the Ragnar Complex to take advantage of a food shortage that was going on right away and that would naturally *** off the Tri-Tachs.  Never mind, I guess it wasn't random, just a case of me getting too old...

there are also some random rep penalties if I am not mistaken. Got a -5 for smuggling, although I didn't (as far as I remember) and in the report it was written that they discussed in the news if I was really the offender or just an unfortunate scapegoat.

It's actually a bit cool that faction rep and xp for trading comes in a bit later, not immediately. I particularily love 'timebomb' events, like planting a sniffer now will screw me up two hours down in my playthrough, and investigations into smuggling.

Wish factions would put out bounties on me though.

They can. If you attack them over and over they eventually get angry, and the bounty they post says it's due to your activity. The don't do named bounties however.

Yeah they have to issue general bounties, and I don't recall ever seeing pirates ever issue one.
