Factorio

An interesting game I came across yesterday that seems to have been flying under the radar for some time.
You play as a one man terra former that has to build machinery and create an infrastructure in order to prepare for the arriving colonists.
It's basically a production line management game with elements of combat in it.

I was almost spooked out when I saw lets players and their huge factories, I never believed I would master it but after you play the tutorial you're good to go.
The core aspects are actually really simple.

This game is fantastic, one of the more fun and engaging games I have played in a long time.

I try not to play it so much these days, it has a real knack of absorbing all your spare time trying to optimise your factory, whilst trying to expand. Every little tiny action inevitably leads to a 'just one more thing ...' (which of course leads to another thing). It's really rewarding, up until you get to a point, where you may find yourself looking for a bit more content, or a slightly better balance, or a better endgame.

Still stands up as a 'toy' though (if you like to continue with your optimising of the factory) - even after you hit the point where you may have 'completed' what there is (or you just start again, and try different starting conditions, or self-imposed challenges, or whatever, make a railroad etc.) - development progress also moves steadily and positively towards the game that this thing promises to eventually be.

A main issue seems to be the lack of things to do at sea, but thats surely a temporary issue.
I for one want to see nuclear fusion and antimatter power plants and vehicles, imagine going around in a nuclear car fallout stile, then making the jump to antimatter skimmers.

Read your comments... Played the demo... Read your comments again... Bough the game... Started playing the game yesterday eve... Stopped playing the game realizing that sun is setting up... Hate the game for having so devastating impact on my free time and productivity...

Installed it today on my flash drive, brought it to work...
