My 2 cents.

A patch is a bug-smashing thingy that mainly just fixes broken things. We don't have that many patches for Starsector due to the game being quite bug-free (btw - unlike many other indie games!).

A thingy that brings whole new bunch of stuff (new content) to the game should be called an 'update'.

That`s how I see things

P.S. - yeah, I`m aware that officially all the updates released so far are called 'patches'. I tend to overlook these official thigs )

Alex can release whenever he is ready.  That does not mean the client is obliged to stop what he is doing to play if the release date is inconvenient to him.

Agreed, I have my Admiralty Interview Board from the 16th-18th so if possible  could you release it from the 16th onwards?

I disagree that he can release whenever he wants, the client does indeed have an irresistible need to play it when it releases! Especially with the last major release being on the 13th September last year! (with last hotfix in January)
