UI problems with Catalyst 14.1 beta

I just updated to the latest Catalyst beta drivers and now this is happening.  Anyone else having problems?  I've tried reinstalling, to no avail.

Oh, lovely. I've seen something very similar-looking happen with some out-of-date drivers, so I can only assume it's a bug in the beta drivers. Is there some way for you to report this to them? The game is using OpenGL, btw.

Just occurred to me: you mean you tried reinstalling the drivers, right? Not the game? Because it doesn't seem like reinstalling the game would make a difference here.

Both, just to be sure.  I reinstalled the 13.12 WHQL and it worked fine.  In game, other elements are missing, including planets and text boxes.  Here's some screenshots:

You mean that the game worked fine or the Catalyst driver installer "worked fine"?  My experience with the driver installer is that, generally, it is quite lousy and leaves a lot of junk behind, some of which still tries to run... that, and generally, it seems like every new Catalyst driver manages to completely screw up another really basic part of OpenGL that's been running reliably on nVidia chipsets for a decade, lol.

The game works fine on 13.12.  I always do a clean driver install, uninstalling the all the old software and running DriverSweeper, so I doubt it's a bad driver install.  I submitted a bug report to AMD, there's a link at the bottom of the driver beta page.  I'll try out another OpenGL game and see if its also having issues.

Glad to hear it's stable on WHQL.  I just wish they'd just get OpenGL working right; every time I update I get an issue with one OpenGL application or another, some of which I actually kind of need to work, lol  ::)

I tried out Minecraft and am missing textures there too, and I'm not the only one:

I haven't tried the fix outlined in that thread, since it involves downloading files and putting them in system32; I think I would rather wait for AMD to fix it.

I can confirm the Minecraft issue, actually helped somebody fix it a few days ago by having him wipe drivers and switch back to 13.12. Something with the new drivers and Java in general, I'd guess.

Thanks for reporting it to them!

Looks like some kind of issue in handling display lists, from the screenshots. Good to know it's not just with Starsector.
