I hope they have good 3d movements, it seems like most things happen on a plane in the trailer

It is not full 3d, it is 2.5d with adjustable camera angles.

Brrr, I see the art design still follows the philosophy: "How many bright colors can we squeeze into each frame?"...
Still, something I'll keep on my list, if only for the gameplay.

oh...

well, that sucks :P (tbh i prefer 2d to 2.5d since functionally they're about the same and 2d is far, FAR easier to mod)

I'm still looking forward to it though, seems fun

I was mistaken, it is not 2.5d, its 2.75d ???

Statement from one of the devs on their forums.

"You move in 2D, but you can shoot in full 3D. It comes into play a lot when you're banking your large ships and the inner components are exposed. Many ship parts have verticality you can exploit to cover some of your weaker components. Another factor is each weapon requires line of sight to fire. If you bank your ship hard enough, the turrets on the opposite side can fire across the top of the ship, but again, exposing your inner cores to incoming fire.

We look at the 2D flight a lot like classic naval ships moving on the ocean. The are pirates after all ;)"

If/When they implement the modding section, creating spaceships is going to be interesting...as it appears you would need to create ship parts? But ship parts are procedural? Fascinating.

Hmmm I really liked SPAZ, but I'm not a mad fan of '2.5D/2.75D', I think that is a bit of a let down :( Also, the local co-op is cool, but why not network co-op?

Still, it seems pretty cool so hopefully it's all implemented well and turns out amazing :)

While I prefer 2D sprites, I am happy that they went with the modular spaceship building / salvaging.

It reminds me of Captain Forever.
