Has several ships that work almost exactly like that.

 I think the spacing is done just right so as to keep some distance from the row of the exit button.
 As for ship types, I really don't see what you could add besides corvettes and why not dreadnoughts.
 The first could have a longer combat lifespan, better speed and maneuverability than frigates, while the second could be more monstrous and expensive than cap ships.
 But as mentioned before, cap ships covers it all, so they would need to rename that tab.
 Either way, it's too early to talk about new ships since the game doesn't even have it's mechanics in place yet.
